:: Ansett Transport Museum, Hamilton, Victoria, Australia ::

Sir Reginald Ansett started Ansett Airways in 1939 and it became a major airline over the next several decades.
It expanded its own operations, took over major and minor competitors and founded other businesses. The major ancillary businesses were freight and coach services, which is the reason for the more general museum name. Ansett also established TV networks. The company was later taken over by Sir Peter Abeles and Rupert Murdoch and collapsed entirely 66 years after its creation.
The museum resides in the original Ansett Airways hangar. You will find a gift shop at the entrance and a small corrugated steel hangar beyond it.
Displays are organized around a Fokker Universal aircraft. The biggest areas are dedicated to the Ansett company pilot and flight attendant uniforms, informational displays about the history and some models. It also includes less inspired displays such as a Boeing 727 wheel.
It's worth a visit if you're passing by, but unless you're a dedicated Ansett company history fan, it's not worth the several hour drive from Melbourne nor the Twelve Apostles.
